1. Eligibility for Driving Lessons
To be eligible for driving lessons, you must:
Be at least 17 years of age (or 16 if registered as disabled)
Hold a valid UK driving licence—this may be provisional, full, or an appropriate foreign licence
You must present valid proof of your driving licence to your instructor prior to your first lesson. Failure to do so may result in the lesson being cancelled, and you may still be charged.
2. Prepaid Lessons
Full payment is required in advance to confirm any prepaid lesson package. Lessons must be scheduled directly with your assigned instructor and are subject to availability.
Prepaid lessons must be used within 6 months of purchase unless otherwise agreed. Unused lessons after this period will expire and are non-refundable.
3. Redeeming Prepaid Lessons
You and your instructor are responsible for arranging the timing, location, and duration of each lesson.
You must notify your instructor of any circumstances that may affect your ability or legal entitlement to drive, such as the absence or suspension of a valid licence.
Instructor availability is not guaranteed for every requested time slot. It is your responsibility to confirm lesson appointments.
Driving lesson prices vary by location. The rate quoted at the time of purchase applies only to the postcode area where the lesson was booked. If you choose to take lessons in a different area, the number of hours may be adjusted to reflect local pricing.
Lesson prices may change over time, but prepaid lessons will be honoured at the original rate unless the location changes.
4. Cancellation Policy
You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booked lesson. Failure to do so may result in being charged the full cost of the missed lesson.
5. Refund Policy
Refunds may be considered if:
No lessons have commenced
You provide at least 48 hours’ notice before the first scheduled lesson
Your instructor is unavailable and no alternative can be arranged
Refunds will not be issued if:
Lessons have started
You miss lessons without proper notice
You are unfit to drive or violate road safety rules
Lessons expire due to inactivity beyond the validity period
Partial refunds for unused lessons may be subject to deductions and an administrative fee. Refunds will be processed within 14 working days to the original payment method.
6. App Payment Service Fee
When paying through the app:
Transactions under £100: Service fee of £1.69
Transactions £100 and over: Service fee of 1.7% of the total amount, plus £0.15
This fee covers secure payment processing and administrative costs.
7. Notice to Third-Party Payers
If someone other than the learner makes a payment, it will be treated as if made by the learner. The payer (Non-Customer) has no entitlement to refunds, interest, or rights under these terms.
Go Drive Academy provides services solely to learners. Refunds, where applicable, will be issued only to the learner.
This clause does not affect any legal rights of the Non-Customer that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Legal Accountability of Provisional Licence Holders
Learners with a provisional licence are legally responsible for their actions while driving under instruction. This includes:
Penalty points, fines, or sanctions for offences such as speeding or using a mobile phone
Legal responsibility remains with the learner, even when accompanied by an instructor
Learners must follow all road traffic laws and instructor guidance
Learners are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is insured and roadworthy unless provided by Go Drive Academy
In the event of an accident, learners may be held liable and must cooperate with authorities and insurers
Go Drive Academy and its instructors accept no liability for legal penalties, insurance claims, or damages incurred by the learner.
